Why a Small Order of HP Reverb G2 Headsets Deserves the Same Quality Review as a 500-Unit Buy

Here's an unpopular take: when you're buying VR headsets for business, the spec sheet is not your friend. It's the entry ticket to a quality checklist. And if you're a small buyer, that checklist is often the first thing a vendor tries to skip.

Real talk: I've spent the last four years as a quality compliance manager, reviewing roughly 200 VR deliverables a year. Last year, I rejected about 8% of first deliveries—maybe 10%, I'd have to pull the report—because they didn't match our acceptance criteria. I've had vendors tell me they can't "warrant every unit individually." That's not true. They can. What they're really saying is they don't want to spend the money to catch problems. But small orders are the foundation of the business; today's two-headset pilot is tomorrow's hundred-headset deployment. Take it from someone who reviews 200+ items a year: quality expectations are not a favor you ask for. They're a requirement you communicate.

And if you're a small buyer, you have leverage you probably don't use. Ask for the same checks. Put your requirements in writing. The suppliers who respect that are the ones who'll be there when your order grows. The ones who don't, won't be on your list—and that's exactly how it should be.
